Properties

Gallium(III) oxide, Ga2O3 can be formed by heating metal gallium in the air or roasting gallium nitrate, gallium hydroxide and certain gallium compounds at 200-250℃. Ga2O3 has five isomers: α, β, γ, δ, ε, among which the most stable is β-isomer. When heated to above 1000°C or heated to above 300°C under hydrothermal conditions (i.e. wet method), all other isomers will Converted to β-isomer. Various pure isomers can be prepared using different methods.

Use

Gallium oxide materials are nanomaterials widely applied across various fields due to their characteristics, finding extensive use in microelectronics, optoelectronics, photocatalysis, and biomedical applications. Below are the primary application areas of gallium oxide materials:

Microelectronics:
Gallium oxide materials exhibit rapid response to high-frequency electric fields, hence widely employed in microelectronics. For instance, they are utilized in manufacturing high-frequency field-effect transistors, surface acoustic wave filters, and microwave switches.

Optoelectronics:
The bandgap of gallium oxide materials matches visible light, enabling effective light absorption and emission. This characteristic finds broad application in manufacturing devices such as LED lights, thin-film solar panels, and novel optoelectronic sensors in the field of optoelectronics.

Photocatalysis:
The high photocatalytic activity of gallium oxide materials makes them ideal catalysts for decomposing harmful chemical substances.

Biomedical Field:
Gallium oxide materials can induce cell apoptosis under light exposure, making them a specialized form for cancer treatment and immunotherapy. Gallium oxide nanoparticles are also applicable in bioimaging, biomarking, and drug delivery systems
