Copper Nitrate Description
Cupric nitrate is blue crystal, the melting point is 114.5℃, the relative density is 2.32, and it is easily soluble in water and ethanol. Its solution is acidic and can be dissolved in concentrated ammonia water to form a complex salt of tetraammonium copper dinitrate, which is easy to absorb moisture. When heated to 170°C, it decomposes into the insoluble basic salt Cu(NO3)2·Cu(OH)2, continues to be heated to transform into copper oxide. It is a strong oxidant and can cause combustion and explosion when heated, rubbed or impacted with carbon powder, sulfur or other combustibles.
Copper Nitrate Applications
As nitrating agent for aromatic organic silicon compound, organic reaction catalyst.
Phosphor activator and photosensitive resistance materials.
Insecticide & bactericide.
Electroplating and chemical reagents.
Ceramic stains, preparing high purity copper oxide, copper carbonate, copper catalyst, oxidant.
