Bismuth nitrate Description

Properties: Colorless glittering hygroscopic crystals with a sour smell of nitric acid and a specific gravity of 2.83. They are insoluble in alcohol and ethyl acetate but soluble in dilute nitric acid, acetone, glycerin, and other substances. When heated to 75-80°C, these crystals lose five molecules of crystal water.

Application: This substance is a reagent that can be used to precipitate alkaloids, sodium, rubidium, and cesium. It is also useful in preparing standard solutions for atomic absorption spectrometry. Additionally, it has various applications such as manufacturing other bismuth salts, luminescent coatings, electronics, ceramic glazes, metal surface pretreatment, and pharmaceuticals.
