Ammonium Bifluorid Description
Properties: Ammonium Bifluoride is a white orthorhombic crystal with specific gravity of 1.52. Melting Point 124.6 and boiling point 239.5. It is easily deliquescent and agglomerative in the air. It is soluble in water and the solution is acidic. The solubility in water is 63 g/100ml (20). It etches glass. It is slightly soluble in alcohol, can be decomposed in hot water and the solution appears to be strong acidic. Ammonium hydrogen difluoride can sublimate in high temperature. It will corrupt skin and it is toxic when you touch it.
Application: Ammonium hydrogen difluoride is used as glass etchant, antiseptic, disinfector, analytical reagent, the solvent in beryllia producing beryllium metal and the treatment of the surface of silicon steel plate. It is also used as the oxidant in producing pottery and aluminum magnesium alloy, the cleaning agent of boiler water-supply system and evaporator system, the acidification treatment of sand in oil field, the fluorination reagent in organic synthesis and the extraction of rare element.
Packing: Polyethylene weaving inner lined with plastic bag. Net weight is 25kg.
Storage and transportation: Inorganic toxic substance, and should be stored in dry and adequately ventilated warehouse, and may not be co-stored or co-transported with sulfuric acid and edible food.
